Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A measure to nominate a new memeber of the American Samoa Economic Development Authority board was introduced in the Senate yesterday and is expected to be presented to the House floor later this week.

The nomination of Governor’s chief legal counsel, Terry Van Eaton is to replace and fulfill Jason Mitchell’s membership on the American Samoa Economic Development Authority (ASEDA) board of directors.

Van Eaton most recently served as Director of Compliance with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. In that role, he was responsible for the auditing needs of the agency and all its state and federally funded programs.

Prior to that, he was an attorney with the Nebraska Department of Revenue handling tax disputes and litigation. According to the Administration, Van Eaton “brings valuable legal and financial experts to the Board.”

The confirmation hearing for Van Eaton is schedule for this Friday.
