Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Governor Lemanu P. S. Mauga declared flags to fly at half staff pursuant to the proclamation issued by the President of the United States honoring National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
“The flag of the United States and American Samoa shall be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, as a mark of respect for the 2,403 service members and civilians whose lives were cut short on that tragic morning on December 7, 1945.
“On National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the memories of those lives lost on that fateful day and we reflect on the resilience of America's Armed Forces, who withstood the attack and built the most capable fighting force the world has ever known.
As we reflect on the loss of life and the impact on the affected survivors and their families, let us take a moment to be grateful for the Lord's continued protection and blessings on our Territory.”
