Five beauties vie for Miss SOFIAS 2019 this weekend

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The 2019 Miss SOFIAS (Sosaiete o Faafafine i Amerika Samoa) pageant is this weekend. And everyone is expecting a show filled with dazzling performances, over-the-top outfits, and extraordinary talents.

This year, five beauties are vying for the crown. They are: Cece Iavai, Vanessa Taamu Simanu, Dezi Bartley, Mechi De la Cruz, and Aruni Talaifaga.

According to a SOFIAS representative, the pageant will be held at the Fatuoaiga Hall and part of the proceeds from the event will be presented to their charity of choice: Hope House.

Over the years, the SOFIAS have contributed much to the local community. And this year is no different. They have donated generously to Hope House, the LBJ Medical Center, and the American Samoa chapter of the Red Cross, to name a few.
