Equal Employment Opportunity Division transfers to Gov’s Office

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Through a July 1 executive order, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Palepoi Sialega Mauga transferred the Equal Employment Opportunity Division of the Department of Human Resources to the Governor’s Office.

According to the order, the transfer of the Equal Employment Opportunity Division followed a request from the DHR director, to “avoid any appearance of conflict of interest or impropriety.”

It also says that the Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance Officer, who oversees this division, shall report to the Governor’s Chief of Staff.

The transfer is effective July 1st.
