Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — South Pacific Academy elementary Valedictorian Jacob Tubui is one of the 21 SPA students ready to enter high school. The private academy held its elementary graduation ceremony recently with the theme “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
During his valedictory speech he urged the graduates to put God first.
“The challenges before us are great, the expectations from our parents, our family and even ourselves are so numerous to mention. We need to set the right platform and this will be the launching pad to our dreams, goals, interests and career.”
Tubui said: “I stand tall today because of everyone’s support, motivation and encouragement. “
He acknowledged Almighty God “for the award that has been bestowed on me today. “I return the honor, glory and praise to be His and His along for this achievement.”
The Valedictorian also acknowledged the “hard working staff and teachers of SPA.”
And he commended his parents for being pillars of strength and their spiritual guidance. “Your love and kindness speaks volume of my achievement today… you are always there encouraging me to rise to the occasion and make it count.
“To my siblings, family and friends who are here and in Fiji, thank you for your prayers and supporting words you continue to share with me.”
To the graduating class, Tubui said each one has a purpose in life.
“Identify your purpose and move forth to fulfill your chose dream. Our purpose will only be clear if we allow our Creator to direct our path.”
