Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Lemanu-Talauega Administration plans to be in Manu’a for the Manu’a Flag Day festivities.
Events and festivities are planned from July 14th-16th.
On July 16th, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga and Lt. Gov. Talauega Eleasalo Va’alele Ale will lead a delegation to Ta’u, Manu’a, to celebrate Manu’a Cession Day.
Events leading up to the day of the official flag-raising ceremony will include a fishing tournament, farm fair, and island tours will begin on Wednesday, July 14th.
On Thursday, July 15th, youth groups from Ofu and Olosega will arrive in Ta’u. They will be joining Ta’u youth groups for the arts council program that same evening.
The fishing tournament will conclude on Thursday with a prize-giving ceremony.
The Manua Cession Day Church Service will be Thursday afternoon at 2 pm, at the EFKAS Malamalama o le Lalolagi church, Ta’u, Manu’a, led by Reverend Elder Iosefa Autele, EFKAS, and followed by the “Usu o le Itumalo” shortly after.
On Friday, July 16th, the program will include a parade, flag-raising ceremony, and the Manu’a Itumalo traditions and customs.
