Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Five groups opened the entertainment on the first night of the 47th Arts Council Flag Day Performing Arts Festival Thursday night at the Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Tama Fanau a Leone, Island Pearl, South Pacific Academy, New Boys and Leloaloa Methodist Youth entertained with Mauluulu, sasa, and faataupati.
Prior to the entertainment, Master of Ceremonies HTC Lauti Fa’afetai introduced the CCCAS Leone Choir with the opening hymn followed by the invocation by Rev. Iese Fa’avaoga, CCCAS Leone, which was followed by special remarks by Gov. Lemanu P. S. Mauga
Heavy rains in the afternoon, unfortunately, kept the crowd smaller than usual for one of the most popular annual Flag Day events. You can catch the final entertainment tonight, Sat. April 15, starting at 6PM, also at the Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Saturday night’s entertainment includes Alo o le Taulaga Ola, CCCAS Masausi, Au Kirikiti Tunaula – Fagaitua, Student Association for FaaSamoa (SAFF-ASCC), Korean Community of American Samoa, and New John Wesley Methodist Youth – Fagatogo.
