Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In separate general memoranda issued late last week, acting governor, Lt. Gov. Talauega Eleasalo V. Ale, appointed two acting directors — for the Treasury Department and the Office of Public Information (OPI).
Treasury’s deputy director, Levi Reese is appointed acting treasurer, until Treasurer Malemo Tausaga — who left the left the territory on last Thursday’s medical charter to Honolulu — returns. The memo didn’t say when Malemo is expected to return to the territory.
For OPI, the agency’s deputy director, Aaron Hall is acting director, until director Aoelua Solomona Aoelua — who also was on last Thursday’s medical charter — returns to the territory on Sept. 13th.
ASG COVID-19 Task Force announced in a news release this week that the start of Hawaiian Airlines commercial flights between Pago Pago and Honolulu have been pushed to next month, with a tentative date of Sept. 13th. (See Thursday's Samoa News for details of the press release.)
