2020 starts off tragically with deadly traffic accident New Years Eve

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Three female employees of the Dept of Agriculture were involved in a deadly traffic accident New Year's Eve.

The driver has been jailed, one woman has died, and the other is reportedly in critical condition at the LBJ Hospital.

It is alleged that the accident was alcohol related and the vehicle was speeding.

Samoa News understands that the women were returning from dropping off a fellow employee in Amanave, following an office party at the DOA compound.

The vehicle involved is said to be a government car licensed to DOA.

Samoa News urges drivers to follow the set speed limits and refrain from drinking and driving.
